About CompChest

As  I went through the process of shopping around my first novel, I learned firsthand the importance of comps when querying literary agents and traditional publishers. Finding the right comp is a powerful way to quickly communicate your story to  busy agents and editors. 

 

But how do you find the right comps? I tried searching online and browsing book stores, but they weren't much help.

My writing community from the Women's Fiction Writers Association saved me and helped me find a great comp for my story. But not everyone is so lucky (and I may not be so lucky with my next manuscript!)

I built CompChest as way to bring authors together, to celebrate our published friends, and to lend a hand to those in the querying trenches.  I think of it like those little trays on the counters of convenience stores that say: "Have a penny? Leave a penny. Need a penny? Take a penny."
